This page is for barcode numbers obtained from another supplier.
What barcode registration does
Registering adds your number and your product details to IBNVerified.org and the International Barcodes Database, which feed into other major barcode databases and scanning apps.
Two things follow from that. You get a public, dated record that the number belongs to you. Useful if a retailer questions it, or if someone else starts using the same number. And your product appears when the number is looked up, instead of a blank entry.

What happens after you order
- Enter your barcode number or numbers in the additional information box at checkout.
- We email you to request proof that the number is yours.
- Once we’ve confirmed it, we activate the number and send you access to the Customer Portal.
- You enter your product and company details there.
- Your details appear on IBNVerified.org and the International Barcodes Database
What counts as proof of ownership
We ask for this because registering a number to the wrong person is worse than not registering it at all. Anything that ties the number to you will usually do:
- the original invoice or order email from the supplier you bought it from
- a certificate of ownership, if your supplier issued one
If you’re not sure what you have, email us before ordering, and we’ll tell you whether it’s enough.
How long it takes
Verification usually takes 24-48 hours depending on how quickly you can send proof. Once your details are submitted in the portal, they appear in the databases within 24 hours.

Does barcode registration expire? No. There’s nothing to renew and no recurring fee.
Will registration make my barcode work on Amazon? No. Amazon checks numbers against the GS1 database and looks for a match to your brand, which registration on an independent database doesn’t create. See what Amazon requires.
Is barcode registration required? No. A barcode scans perfectly well without it. It matters when someone looks up the number rather than scans it, whether a retailer is checking you’re legitimate or a shopper wants product details.
