Barcode Registration
Did you get your EAN or UPC barcodes from our company?
- Yes – Registration is included for free, and instructions will have been emailed to you with your order.
- No – You can purchase barcode registration here if your barcodes are from another source.
Our EAN-13 and UPC barcode packages come with free registration on the International Barcodes Database. This allows you to register your product and company details alongside your barcode number in an online database.
Advantages of Barcode Registration
Barcode registration is optional, but it offers several benefits:
- Increased visibility on smartphone apps – Registration makes your product visible on some app scanners, such as the Zebra app. When scanned, your product information appears, making it easier for customers to access details.
- Boosted online profile – Registering your barcode enhances your product’s internet presence. When someone searches for your barcode online, your product information appears, making it easier for retailers and customers to find you.
- Protection against misuse – Registration is proof of ownership, reducing the chance of misusing your barcode on sites like Amazon. It discourages unauthorised use and prevents the legal owner from having to pursue such cases.
- Proof of barcode legitimacy—Registering in an independent database can reassure retailers who may question barcode legitimacy. This saves time and prevents unnecessary frustration when dealing with retailers relying exclusively on GS1’s database.
Registering your barcode provides extra protection against unauthorized use, and helps customers and retailers verify your product and business details.
How to Register Your Barcode
If you purchased barcodes from us, check your email for registration instructions. Register your barcode numbers and product/company details on the International Barcodes Database. Your barcode will also be automatically registered on IBNVerified.org, increasing your product’s online visibility.
Once registered, your product details will appear in online searches and smartphone apps like the Zebra app. Note that some apps search only within online stores, so their databases may be limited, whereas apps like Zebra access a broader range of sources.
