Who needs barcode images for existing numbers

Most people ordering from this page fall into one of four groups:

  • GS1 members. You have a company prefix and have assigned your own GTINs, but need print-ready artwork for each one.
  • You’ve lost the original files. The number is still yours and still valid; the artwork has gone missing in a hard drive change or a staff handover.
  • You’ve inherited numbers. You bought a business, a product line or a book title, and the numbers came with it.
  • You need a different format. You were sent a low-resolution image years ago and your printer now wants vector artwork.

In every case, the number stays exactly as it is. We’re producing the artwork, not issuing a new number.

A barcode number includes a check digit, and a single mistyped digit invalidates the whole number. It’s worth pasting your numbers into our free GTIN validator before you order, so you don’t end up with artwork for a number that won’t scan.

Common questions

Can you make an image from any barcode number? We can produce artwork from any valid EAN-13 or UPC-A number, regardless of who issued it. The number doesn’t need to have come from us.

Does this give me a new barcode number? No. This page is artwork only. If you need a number as well, go to our retail barcode packages.

What if my number is invalid? We’ll email you rather than send artwork for a number that won’t scan. Running your numbers through the GTIN validator first avoids the delay.

What size are the images? Standard size, produced to specification and ready to use. If you need something different, specify it in the Additional Information box at checkout. See the size specifications for the range you can work within.

How quickly will I get them? Usually within minutes of ordering, by email, Monday to Friday.

I need a barcode that isn’t EAN or UPC. For Code 128, ITF-14 and other symbologies, see other barcode images. If you’re shipping cases to a retailer, you’ll likely want a carton barcode.
